THE QVEST is very centrally located between Cologne’s cathedral and the Belgian quarter, in the shadow of the St. Gereon Basilica, one of the city’s few Romanesque churches. Here a small oasis has opened in an area you wouldn’t expect. The private hotel combines history and modernity by combining the neo-Gothic architectural style with a curated collection of furniture design originals, art and photography. All 34 rooms and suites are individually furnished, but bear a clearly recognisable signature style. Inside the spacious salon suite, with six-meter high cross vaults, is probably the last remaining hand-painted pine beamed ceiling from the year 1390. The chapel, immediately adjacent to the hotel, now houses the "Kaune Contemporary" gallery with changing exhibitions of contemporary art photography. The salon suite and chapel offer ideal opportunities for individual presentations, meetings or events that demand a certain ambience, design and service.
