As part of our “Networking am Rhein” (networking along the Rhine) meeting, partners of Cologne’s event sector were able to get an impression of the “KWB im Stadtpalais” venue, whose restoration and restructuring will soon be completed. After extensive refurbishment with a strong emphasis on preservation of the building’s historical elements, the former Kaiser Wilhelm Baths will soon open its doors. In the future it will offer guests an interesting combination of historical tradition and modern architecture. The venue will be a hotel-restaurant combination with space for 450 people at parties and events.

The video clip in the gallery below will give you an impression of “KWB im Stadtpalais”.

“Building Bridges” was the theme of the event, and the artists Thomas Baumgärtel and Harald Klemm illustrated it in various works that are on display in the Hotel Stadtpalais. During a stage presentation and a guided tour, the guests learned many details about the building and its history as the Kaiser Wilhelm Baths and subsequently as a hotel.

The evening also offered the guests an opportunity to engage in cross-sector discussions. Representatives of the SmartCity Cologne initiative presented projects dealing with digitalization and sustainability in the city of Cologne. The evening’s musical entertainment was provided by the Cologne-based singer DARI, who has performed with Max Giesinger, PUR and Glasperlenspiel and will soon launch his own studio album. DJ Gabor and the saxophonist Heinrich Fries also added to the convivial atmosphere.

The setting for this special occasion was created by the furniture rental company Arena Mietmöbel. Supporting services were provided by Mise en Place, a company specializing in staffing for the catering sector.

Over the past ten years, the Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) has created its format “Networking am Rhein”, a platform for the Cologne event sector that promotes networking and knowledge sharing. The CCB’s previous event was a celebration of the organization’s tenth anniversary at Motorworld Köln-Rheinland.
