Credit check and scoring (www.der-koelnshop.de)
Insofar as we deliver a service in advance, e.g. in the case of a sale made on account, we obtain credit information based on statistical mathematical methods from Creditreform, Hellersbergstraße 12, 41460 Neuss, Germany. This is done in order to protect our legitimate interests. For the purposes of a credit check, it is necessary that we provide personal data to Creditreform and use the information obtained from them about the statistical probability of default of payment so that we can make a considered decision about payment options.
The credit information may contain probability values (score values) that are calculated using scientifically acknowledged mathematical statistical methods. These calculations may incorporate, among other things, your address information. Your legitimate interests will be considered in accordance with the legal requirements. You have the right to challenge the results of this check at any time. The results of the challenge will be applicable to future transactions. One possible consequence is that we will no longer be able to offer specific payment options to you.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a Web analysis service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics employs “cookies”, which are text files that are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse how you are using the website. The information created by the cookie concerning your use of this website is normally transferred to a Google server in the U.S. and stored there. Google uses this information at the request of, and on behalf of, the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to create reports on the website activities, and to provide the website’s operator with additional services connected with the use of the website and the Internet.
Protection of your personal data
To protect your personal data on this website, we activated the IP anonymization feature for Google Analytics. The activation of IP anonymization means that your IP address is shortened by Google before it is sent to a server within the member states of the European Union or in other states that are signatories of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the complete IP address transferred to a Google server in the U.S. and shortened there. Google does not combine the IP address that is transferred by your browser as part of the operation of Google Analytics with any other information.
Should we have other personal data of our website users, we do not combine this data with website tracking data or other, non-personal, data.
Deactivation of the website tracking feature by website users
You can prevent the storage of any cookies by carrying out a corresponding setting in your browser software; however, we expressly inform you that in this case you may not be able to use the full scope of all of the features of this and other websites. In addition, you can disable the cookie’s sending of the data it has created concerning your use of this website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google if you download and install the browser plugin that is available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
Use of the advertising functions of Google Analytics
In addition to the standard configuration of Google Analytics, this website also uses functions of Google Analytics that support interest-related advertising and advertising on the basis of the user’s surfing behaviour. To do this, Google Analytics uses a third-party cookie from DoubleClick in order to evaluate data about the user’s surfing behaviour on a variety of websites. This data helps Google to reach statistical conclusions regarding website users’ demographics and areas of interest.
We expressly inform you that we cannot view data about individual users or trace the statistical data that we employ back to specific users.
Some of the visitors of our website will see our advertising when they subsequently visit other websites. This kind of advertising is referred to as remarketing or retargeting. If you object to this kind of advertising, we suggest that you use one of the means mentioned above for the deactivation of website tracking features by website users. Google also lets you control cookies for advertising purposes yourself: http://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/technologies/ads/.
Use of Facebook social plugins
This website employs social plugins ("plugins") from the social networking site Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins bear the Facebook logo or the words "Facebook Social Plugin". You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins and see what they look like here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins
Whenever you call up one of our website’s pages that contains such a plugin, your browser will directly connect to the Facebook servers. Facebook directly transmits the plugin’s content to your browser, which then incorporates it into the webpage.
The incorporation of the plugin lets Facebook know that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not logged into Facebook at the time. Your browser transmits this information (including your IP address) directly to a Facebook server in the USA, where it is stored.
If you are logged into Facebook at the time, Facebook can directly correlate your visit to our website to your Facebook account. Should you interact with the plugins (e.g. click on the “Like” button or post a comment), your browser will transmit this information directly to a Facebook server, where it is stored. In addition, this information will be published on Facebook and shown to your Facebook friends.
Facebook can use this information for advertising purposes, market research and the appropriate design of the Facebook web pages. To do this, Facebook creates use, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. in order to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the ads shown to you when you visit Facebook, notify other Facebook users of your activities on our website, and provide additional services connected with the use of Facebook.
If you do not wish Facebook to assign the data collected by our Website to your Facebook account, you have to logout from Facebook before you visit our website.
Please consult Facebook’s data protection information to find out more about the purpose and scope of Facebook’s data collection activities as well as the data’s further processing and use by Facebook. There, you will also find out more about your corresponding rights and what settings you can use to protect your privacy: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php
Use of Google +
Our website employs the “+1” button of the social networking site Google Plus, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). The button bears the “+1” symbol on a white background.
Whenever you call up one of our website’s pages that contain such a button, your browser will directly connect you to the Google servers. Google directly transmits the “+1” button’s content to your browser, which then incorporates it into the webpage. As a result, we cannot influence the range of data that Google collects with the help of this button. However, we assume that the data collected includes your IP address.
Please consult Google’s information regarding its “+1” button to find out more about the purpose and scope of Google’s data collection activities as well as its further processing and use of the data. There you can also find out more about your corresponding rights and what settings you can use to protect your privacy. http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
If you are a member of Google Plus but do not want Google to collect data about you through our website and link this information to the membership details stored at Google, you have to logout of Google Plus before you visit our website.
Use of Twitter
You can change your Twitter data protection settings by going to your account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings.
You may have expressly given your consent to the following service(s). We would like to remind you that you can withdraw your consent at any time, although this does not apply retroactively.
Consenting to receive e-mail advertising
I would like to regularly receive interesting offers by e-mail. My e-mail address will not be passed on to other companies. I can revoke this consent to having my e-mail address stored and used for advertising purposes at any time (not applicable retroactively), for the cost of transmitting this message at the basic rate.
The content of our webpages was created with the utmost care. However, we cannot guarantee that the content is complete, correct and up to date. According to §7 par. 1 of the German Telecommunications and Electronic Media Act (TMG), we, as a service provider, are responsible for our own content on these webpages in line with the general laws. However, according to §§8 to 10 of the TMG, we, as a service provider, are not required to monitor third-party information that has been stored or transmitted, nor are we obligated to investigate the information to determine if there is any evidence that an illegal act has been committed. This does not affect the requirement to delete or block the use of information in accordance with the general laws. However, we do not bear any liability in this case until we have become cognizant of an actual violation of the law. We will immediately delete such content as soon as we become cognizant of the corresponding violations of the law.
Liability for links
With its verdict of 12th May 1998, the Hamburg Regional Court (Landgericht) decided that linking to another website might make the person or organization that created the link liable for the content contained on the linked website. According to the court, this can only be circumvented by expressly distancing oneself from the content on the linked website. Our webpages contain links to other sites on the Internet. With regard to all of these links, we would like to expressly state that we have no influence on the form and content of the linked webpages. We therefore expressly distance ourselves from the content of all of the webpages linked to this website and do not accept them as our own. This declaration applies to all of the links on our website. The respective providers or operators of the websites are responsible for the linked webpages. Without any clear indications of a legal violation, it would be unreasonable for us to continuously monitor the content of the linked webpages. We will immediately delete such links as soon as we become cognizant of any violations of the law.
The content and works on these pages that were created by the website operator are subject to German copyright law. The mere mention of some content does not mean that the content used here is not protected by third-party rights. The reproduction, processing or dissemination of content, as well as any kind of use not covered by copyright law, requires the express written permission of the respective author or creator. Downloads from and copies of these pages may only be used for private, non-commercial purposes.
Property rights to pictures depicting persons
According to §22 par. 1 of the German law governing the rights to works of art and photography (KUG), pictures may only be published or publicly displayed if the person(s) depicted in them permit it. The pictures displayed on these webpages have been published either because the persons depicted in them have given their permission or because special legal stipulations permit it. Should a picture be published in violation of this principle despite careful monitoring of the content, you should notify us of this fact in writing. You can also request the deletion of a picture whose publication you have already permitted (revocation of your approval). To do this, you merely have to send us an e-mail or fax notifying us of this fact. To enable us to identify the picture, we ask that you describe it in detail and tell us on which page of the KölnTourismus GmbH website it can be found.
