Volvo Trucks Germany presented four new truck models at Motorworld Cologne-Rhineland from September 1 to 4. The guests came from different regions of Germany, divided into three groups of 80 people over 1.5 days each. The agency event & promotion was responsible for the organization and lemonpie for the catering at Motorworld Cologne-Rhineland.
For the different guest groups, the events began each evening with a 4-course menu under the motto "Four Seasons" with each course representing one of the seasons. For the following days, the lemonpie team came up with a number of ideas to comply with a high standard hygiene and infection prevention concept: During the event, the participants were provided with fruit, brain food, sweets and vitality snacks at various snack stations distributed throughout the room. The lunch was buffet style. To avoid queues, the food was offered and served at clearly marked stations. In addition, Plexiglas panels, name plates and table place lists ensured the necessary distance and safety.
"We dealt intensively with all necessary corona measures and took care not to let the experience and atmosphere of the event suffer," explains Johannes Molderings, Managing Director of lemonpie Eventcatering. "Our catering should definitely retain its personal character and not become a better canteen meal. We have succeeded in doing that".
Comprehensive hygiene concept for safe events
The hygiene concept of lemonpie can be flexibly adapted to the occasion. It includes a complete documentation of all processes before, during and after events as well as secured supply chains through supplier audits. The company relies on decentralized food and beverage stations to avoid group and queue formation, as well as on staggered food and arrival times for guests.
The skilful use of furniture ensures that there is sufficient space between guests - three square meters per person is the minimum. Disinfection racks, aerosol protection walls and spit protection provide additional safety in all service areas.
lemonpie has also implemented safety measures in the daily work processes: The use of mouth and nose protection and gloves is mandatory for all employees. Regular temperature measurements, immediate release of personnel in case of cold symptoms as well as floor markings in the baking areas and in the kitchen to maintain safety distances are also part of the comprehensive hygiene concept.
